Northwest Structural Moving, a Scappoose firm, is scheduled to play host to some big movers and shakers on Friday as part of a national conference taking place in Portland.
The firm, owned and operated by Keith and Christy Settle, will hold a tour at its yard at 33341 Gilmore Road from 12:45 to 4 p.m. on Friday as part of the 29th annual conference of the International Association of Structural Movers.
Most of the conference sessions will focus on training and education, and will take place at the Monarch Hotel & Conference Center in Clackamas.
The tour of the Northwest Structural Moving yard, however, will allow conference attendees to stretch their legs, enjoy a catered lunch and see firsthand how the company operates on a daily basis. While the tour will include the usual training demonstrations, the Settles said they also plan on having an actual structure on location that will be lifted and lowered to showcase some of the equipment the company uses for projects.
